As of the Dayton Valley, NV census of 2000, there were 5,907 people, 2,198 households, and 1,674 families residing in the Dayton Valley, NV CDP. The population density was 186.3 people per square mile (71.9/km²). There were 2,322 housing units at an average density of 73.2/sq mi (28.3/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.42% White, 0.36% African American, 1.03% Native American, 1.03% Asian, 0.15% Pacific Islander, 3.84% from other races, and 2.17% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.80% of the population of Dayton Valley, NV.
